Facebook?! Why?

Maybe I am wrong but it seems completely useless. Like who would want a repackaged MySpace? Its like liver, in a new wrapper. Still the same drivel, just less popular. FOr that matter, who on earth wants MySpace? Raise your hand if you are 15.

I mean yeah I suppose if you are a sophomore this is cute to snicker and point about, but at 30 people ask me “Do you have MySpace, all I can do is stare and blink and say “Dude! NO!” thats for kids. To which they reply, “yeah you are right.” Because I am right.

MySpace is even worse than Facebook, but Facebook get the thumbs down because they are copycats of MySpace to begin with.

Like this “Cool New People” They are NOT cool! They are schmucks. If they were cool they would do more productive things than make MySpace accounts, hello!! The fact that you are even assaulted by their lame images upon going to the site is too much for me.

The “Friends” box is over the top. You can view someones collection of friends which only serves to start such exciting dialog like “omg wtf, y hvnt u added me?” Yeah. Just what are struggling youth need.

Support intelligence, get a shirt.

Pancakes

Wednesday, April 25th, 2007

Well I recently learned how to make pancakes. O yeah, I knew I had to mix it up and put it in a pan, I knew the basic stuff. I mean I got good at making them, they all look so perfect. They taste great too!

I been eating alot fo pancakes lately. They are cheap, and so filling. I will make 2 “servings” and then wrap half up to microwave later on.

They are kind of like a munchie that is a food as well, If that makes any sense.

Cant really go worng with pancakes no matter what time of day you eat them. Breakfast, lunch dinner!

Why Code Has Gone Bad

Friday, April 20th, 2007

I code, that is, I write programs that run on computers. I learned C++ early on, and I loved it. I wanted to learn C, because C was created so that UNIX could be written, and personally I think UNIX is very very sexy.

I am a Linux zealot. Linux is the free Operating System that is very similar to UNIX. But thats another topic altogether. Point is, I learned C++ so that I could manipulate and rewrite parts of my operating system. Because I enjoyed being able to do so, I found it to be a good thing I learn PERL as well. Perl used to be considered a “quick and dirty” fix for any POSIX operating system, basically anything that wasn’t Windows.

Proprietary code quality is poor. People blame the programmers working in major corporations for this. But heres the problem that people don’t think about. Corporations are run by business minds, not coding minds. Business minds want to release code as fast as they can, as cheaply as possible to generate the most profits. This means it isnt being tested enough and its not being written in a way that allows the coder to put forth meaningful code. Its a rush, consider how the Sistine chapel would look if you had a gun to  Michelangelo’s head…

These days thinking outside the box will find you frowned at, this works to further stifle creative coding.

Welcome

Welcome to Dumali’s life.  Over the next few weeks I will be learning about blogging and about a multitude of things net related. I invite you to come on this journey of learning with me. I cannot promise the greatest ride, but with luck you will be as entertained as I will be.

So it seems I got the Wordpress installation done right, thats a good start! *smiles*

O! Its tax day! Don’t forget to get your taxes postmarked before midnight. The government wants their money immediately when you owe them but when they owe you it seems to take a while doesn’t’ it?
