Nosy Neighbors

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Nosy neighbors, we all have them, I like to play tricks on mine when I know they are watching. I have this plastic arm.. its a movie prop. When they’re watching me get in and out of my car I like to slip the arm into my trunk and let it hang out. I’ve shown them in lots of ways that I don’t appreciate their spying but they just keep watching. I think my latest prank though will get them out of my hair for a bit.

I paid an uncle of mine to mow my front and back yard. My uncle is a nudist, a very large, very hairy nudist. I told him of the situation, and he agreed to do it. So, this weekend when the nosy neighbors came out to be nosy they were greeted with an eye full of uncle frank, mowing the lawn in his speedo swimsuit in all his fat hairy glory.

That’ll teach them to be rude.

Tickle Me Elmo

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

When my son was about 2 months old, his grandfather gave him a tickle me elmo xtreme. He was terrified of it. It was loud.. it moved on its own.. Now elmo has become a regular member of the family. He has dinner with us.. he goes grocery shopping, he plays outside. Ive even had to figure out how to take a bath with elmo and not cause a disaster.

Today elmo died. Well not died.. but his batteries did. We had to perform surgery.. It was rough and there was a lot of crying involved, but I guess I am pleased to let everyone know that elmo pulled through okay and is back to annoying us.

Atleast the baby has his best friend again HA HA!

Night at the casino

Friday, October 19th, 2007

It’s been a while since I’ve gone to a casino. I used to go regularly then I went out of town to visit with a friend. Their casinos are so much more fun that I haven’t really been interested in the ones here. I kind of miss it though. Taking a roll of quarters and playing the slots. I went to Harras’ for the evening not to long ago, it was fun. First time I had been back in New Orleans in a long time. I had a lot of fun. Spent a little more than I wanted to but I won it all back so it worked out in the end. I think it will be quite some time before I go back there. It’s just not as fun as it used to be.

I don’t wanna go to work

Monday, October 15th, 2007

I’ve come to the realization that I really REALLY hate my job. It reminds me of all of the things I dislike about humanity. I bend over backwards to help these people, and they are sooooo greedy. They always want something more, for free. They never read their billing statements and call in and accuse us of ripping them off, or worse they haven’t paid their bills in 3 months and want to know why their services have been disconnected.

I just don’t want to do it today. Sit there for 10 hours listening to people whine about bills that they ran up, or other ridiculous problems that they caused.  It would be a lot easier if our company hadn’t made all of these new rules that basically make it so that we cant help our customers.

The Internet

Tuesday, October 9th, 2007

Where will the internet be in 5 years?

Where will it be in 10 and 20?

Part of me is scared by the idea. I think the internet will be a part of every facet of our lives. I think everything will be networked soon and every ounce of data logged and compiled.  I think also that your surfing habits will be noted by the cable company and the commercial you see on TV will be targeted to your likes and dislikes so they know what you are more likely to buy.

And those cards you scan at the market checkout,  there is a computer somewhere that knows everything you bought. They may use that for marketing too.

Now they got these cameras in the airports that recognize faces, apparently to catch Osama and company, but do you think they don’t know that? Of course they do, pretty soon your face will be watched for and you will get arrested for an unpaid ticket. You may get in trouble with your boss for missing that flight.. But its for a better society right?

Some people..

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Why do some people perpetually screw off, then the second, months later when they finally make up their mind to do something, they need YOU to do it NOW.

I have family like that, now I am asked to paint a house in the winter. But I asked about it since spring. Suddenly its an emergency to do it now.

Makes no sense, it has been one of these things that was to be done in April and there is still hee hawing about it.  Makes no sense. Sink or swim. I basically said “I dont care anymore, apparently noone is being serious”

See the most valuable thing is life is time. Its why we give it to people we love, our kids, our wives. We spend *time* because its more precious than gold and diamonds. You cant earn time, or buy time. Once its spent its gone. We do not know how much time we have, but some of us give it, and most people waste it.

I hate wasting time.
