If you examine the history of personal computer and network development you will see it didn’t garner much attention and it was a strictly nerd thing until someone decided to start connecting the machines together. Then it gained alot of attention form enthusiastic people, both developers and explorers.

So its fitting to cover what i feel are the best tools with regards to exploring and learning about the network that connects to your machines and the ones that you connect to.

Theres all kinds of tools to manipulate and understand the data flowing through your wires. And while I intend this blog to encompass so much more than technology, technology is my current passion so it makes sense that I am writing about it.

Most tools i will discuss are built with a GUI and I go with these because they are simple for folks who are learning to understand, I feel that you get more power from command line tools, but these are more difficult for the beginner.

Perhaps a posting series to allow me to rant on about subjects noone will say anything about. Still speculating on this.

Like for example, you go out to eat in  a fast food type restaraunt. Fine, you know what you are doing. But now you gotta sift through this healthy crap. Like this Atkins stuff starting appearing  on menus, “Blah is Atkins approved”.  I dont care! I went out to a fast food diner in order to get fast food, if I wanted this healthy nonsense, I would planta  garden and grow organic vegetables. Please for the love of go, get this healthy crap out of my face. And! If you are whining that places like Burger King do not have your much coveted “healthy food” , please shut your hole. No one goes into fast food joints and thinks they are going to lose weight. If you do, you deserve what you get.

Deal with it.

Facebook?! Why?

Maybe I am wrong but it seems completely useless. Like who would want a repackaged MySpace? Its like liver, in a new wrapper. Still the same drivel, just less popular. FOr that matter, who on earth wants MySpace? Raise your hand if you are 15.

I mean yeah I suppose if you are a sophomore this is cute to snicker and point about, but at 30 people ask me “Do you have MySpace, all I can do is stare and blink and say “Dude! NO!” thats for kids. To which they reply, “yeah you are right.” Because I am right.

MySpace is even worse than Facebook, but Facebook get the thumbs down because they are copycats of MySpace to begin with.

Like this “Cool New People” They are NOT cool! They are schmucks. If they were cool they would do more productive things than make MySpace accounts, hello!! The fact that you are even assaulted by their lame images upon going to the site is too much for me.

The “Friends” box is over the top. You can view someones collection of friends which only serves to start such exciting dialog like “omg wtf, y hvnt u added me?” Yeah. Just what are struggling youth need.
