Where will the internet be in 5 years?

Where will it be in 10 and 20?

Part of me is scared by the idea. I think the internet will be a part of every facet of our lives. I think everything will be networked soon and every ounce of data logged and compiled.  I think also that your surfing habits will be noted by the cable company and the commercial you see on TV will be targeted to your likes and dislikes so they know what you are more likely to buy.

And those cards you scan at the market checkout,  there is a computer somewhere that knows everything you bought. They may use that for marketing too.

Now they got these cameras in the airports that recognize faces, apparently to catch Osama and company, but do you think they don’t know that? Of course they do, pretty soon your face will be watched for and you will get arrested for an unpaid ticket. You may get in trouble with your boss for missing that flight.. But its for a better society right?

My sons first birthday is at the end of next month, and I dont know what to get him. I want to get him soemthing he will use regularly, and have fun with playing while also developing his skills.

I am thinking about one of those plush rocking horses, fun, fuzzy, and if he hit his head he wouldn’t be too hurt.  Not sure what he wants. I suppose he isnt too aware of what he wants either, I mean what do you get soemone who is only 12 months and drools?

He has a walker chair. He has enough stuffed animals.

OH! What about on of those baby books that have texturized things like fuzzy, scratchy, and so on, this would inspire his sense of touch and if the have ones that make sounds as well, that would be great. I still think he needs a big gift.

He has alot of movies, or I would think some Pixar films would be nice. If I could find a comfort toy he could take to the sitter’s that would be good.

Well thats my thought for the moment, I will post once I decide on what I will get him.
